Video of my Reading from Noir at the Bar, Baltimore
Thanks to author and screenwriter Eryk Pruitt, you can now check out my reading from Baltimore's Noir at the Bar, which took place on April 16th. Blogger Jedidiah Ayres covered the event, and he also has some deeply sad before/after riot images of the West Baltimore bar where the reading was held. Be sure to check out his post. My first story, "The Halloween Parade," is a recent one, and a departure from most of my short stories in that nothing bad happens—but it is at the same time one of the most terrifying things I've ever written.

The second part of my reading is a short comedy bit I wrote for, but didn't include in, Witch Lights. My character Mantu is a comedian, so this was a piece of his stand-up, but it was a little too over-the-top for the book. Warning: it is terribly obscene and deeply offensive, but I hope at least a little funny.
My thanks to Eryk and Nik Korpon for organizing what was a seriously fun reading with a great lineup of writers. I look forward to the next installment—see you at the bar.
