Art Imitates Life Imitates Art: "The Hand" in Real Life

The Hand (Standing Stones in the Ring of Kerry, Ireland)

Okay, this really freaked me out.

A friend of mine saw the cover of Blackwater Lights for the first time and immediately emailed me this photo he took from a bus while touring the Ring of Kerry in Ireland in 2009. I was stunned when I saw it—this is almost exactly how I envisioned the fictional standing stone structure known as "The Hand" in the novel. So much so that I get chills every time I look at the photo.

Wild. Just wild.
