David Brooks, the Age of Aquarius, and Tired Occult Tropes

Well, it’s not every evening you find out your book has been mentioned by David Brooks in a New York Times op-ed.

I’m working on a response to Brooks’s piece, which, despite its attempts to understand the rise of occultism and generally respectful tone, gets quite a bit wrong and plays on very tired cliches about magic and witchcraft.
